The history of IDW Doctor Who Comics:
IDW Comics published a Ten-part monthly 'Doctor Who Classics' comic, from December 2007 to September of 2008, reprinting (in colour) comic strips from the 70s and 80s that came out in the UK Doctor Who Weekly Magazine/Comics.
Many of the issues are reprints of the US Marvel Comics that came out from 1980 - 1984.
In October 2002 they published the 2 part series entitled GRANT MORRISON'S DOCTOR WHO.
From December 2008 until December 2009 they published Doctor Who Classics Series 2 as a 13 Part Monthly series with newly recolored reprints of classic stories (very nice production quality)
In 2010 a 6 Part Monthly Series Doctor Who Classics Series 3 featuring the 6th Doctor (Colin Baker)
In 2011 a 5 Part Monthly Series featuring the 7th Doctor (Sylvester McCoy)
In 2012 a 6 Part Monthly Series Doctor Who Classics Series 4 featuring the 6th Doctor (Colin Baker)
In 2013 a 5 Part Monthly Series featuring the 7th Doctor (Sylvester McCoy)

The RI (Retailer Incentive) was to get shops to buy between 10 and 25 of the regular comic book in order to get the special cover
